Laura’s practice covers all areas of intellectual property law, with a particular focus on trademarks, designs, copyright, advertising and media law. She specializes in complex cross-border litigation as well as the coordination and management of international enforcement actions. Clients frequently ask Laura to act in opposition and invalidity proceedings before the European Union Intellectual Property Office and she assists with border seizure and anti-counterfeit programs. As an experienced negotiator, Laura also likes to strategize with her clients to achieve the desired outcome. Laura practised IP law and corporate litigation in Curacao, Italy and the Netherlands before joining HOYNG ROKH MONEGIER in 2011. She regularly lectures at universities and conferences worldwide.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Simplot v. McCain. Represented Simplot in an international dispute about McCain’s infringement on Simplot’s potato design; obtained EU wide injunctions, and evidentiary seizures and damages awards.
- Philips v. Lidl. Landmark copyright litigation over Philips shaver designs up until the Dutch Supeme Court.
- Abbott v. Holland Trading Group. Acted for Abbott in EU-wide trademark litigation about counterfeit packaged diabetes test strips; obtained injunctions and ancillary claims.
- Quality is Our Recipe. Assists QIOR in litigation and EUIPO actions concerning the WENDY’S trademark in the EU.
- Vlisco. The Dutch district courts granted cross-border preliminary copyright injunctions based on Vlisco’s fabric designs against various international fashion brands. Laura represents Vlisco in numerous other IP matters.
- Successfully represented Arpa Industriale and Trespa in various cross-border proceedings protecting trademarks for interior design materials.
- Assisted in international patent FRAND litigation (confidential).
- Daniel Wellington v. International Time Group. Secured an EU-wide trademark injunction, customs detention, damages awards and other ancillary claims against counterfeit watch traders.
- FKP Sojuzplodoimport v. Spirits. Successfully acted for FKP in proceedings up until the Dutch Supreme Court involving the famous vodka trademarks Stolichnaya and Moskovskaya.
